Japanese vs English One Piece Cards: How Much Is the Price Gap?
Data updated 2026-11-03 · Exchange rates as of 2026-11-03 (European Central Bank (ECB)) · 9 One Piece card pairs compared
- Raw cards: in all 9 pairs, the English version costs more than the Japanese one — a median of about 1.90× the Japanese price
- Graded (PSA 10): in 4 of 5 pairs, the English version costs more than the Japanese one — a median of about 1.61× the Japanese price
- Prices are shown in Malaysian ringgit (MYR) by default; switch to Singapore dollars (SGD), US dollars (USD) or Japanese yen (JPY)
Many players assume Japanese cards are always cheaper. This edition's One Piece data says that's true: for the same card and the same version, the English raw market price is usually 1.4 to 3.2 times the Japanese sold price. But the gap differs from card to card, so check both before you buy.
Which prices we compare
| Price type | English | Japanese |
|---|---|---|
| Raw (NM) | TCGplayer market price | SNKRDUNK / 遊々亭 sold price (rows marked “Listing” use 遊々亭's lowest shop listing) |
| Graded (e.g. PSA 10) | Sold prices aggregated by alt.xyz (eBay, Fanatics, Goldin, Heritage and others) | SNKRDUNK sold price |
In the raw table, the English side is a market price and the Japanese side is a sold price, so they are not measured in exactly the same way; in the graded table, both sides are sold prices.

- All prices are for raw cards in near-mint (NM) condition
- “EN/JP ratio” = English price ÷ Japanese price (after converting to the same currency). Above 1 means the English version costs more
- “Listing” means the shop's lowest asking price, not a sale; “Few sales” means only a handful of sales — treat as indicative
- Versions with no new sale in the last 60 days are left out of the table
- Click a card name to see that version's full prices, sources and update times

- Only cards with a PSA 10 sale in the last 60 days on both the English and the Japanese side are listed; cards without data are left out, never estimated
- English prices are the latest sale aggregated by alt.xyz; Japanese prices are the latest SNKRDUNK sale. Both are real sales
- Sale dates are shown; prices based on only a few sales are flagged
- Graded prices depend heavily on the grade, so only PSA 10 is compared with PSA 10
Why do Japanese and English prices differ?
- Different print runs: Japanese and English cards are printed and released separately. Versions with smaller print runs or lower pull rates usually cost more.
- Different release dates: One Piece sets usually come out in Japanese first and in English some time later. A version that has just been released often starts high and then settles.
- Different buyers: English cards sell to buyers all over the world, while most buyers of Japanese cards are in Japan and Asia. The side with more demand gets pushed up more easily.
- Card face and feel: Some collectors prefer the printing and card face of Japanese cards; others only collect English because they can read it and it is easier to resell.
- Grading habits: Many of the cards sent for grading come from the English market. Graded and raw prices differ a lot, which also affects raw prices indirectly.
- Shipping, duties and exchange rates: Buying from Japan or the US and shipping to Malaysia or Singapore adds shipping and possibly taxes; exchange-rate moves also make the same price look higher or lower once converted to ringgit.
Practical tips for players in Malaysia and Singapore
- Check both prices before you decide: In this edition's One Piece data the Japanese version is cheaper, but the gap varies — English cards cost 1.4 to 3.2 times the Japanese price.
- Know the difference between “sold”, “market” and “listing” prices: A sold price is what someone actually paid; a market price is a reference worked out from recent trades; a listing is just the seller's asking price and may never sell.
- Look at the date: Card prices change every day; a sale from long ago is only a rough guide.
- Work out the total cost in MYR or SGD: Add up the card price, shipping and any taxes before comparing. tcg95 can show prices in 10 currencies, including MYR and SGD.
- Planning to grade or resell?: English cards are usually easier to resell internationally; if you are collecting for yourself, Japanese cards often get you the same artwork for less.

Data sources and method
Price sources
- English raw: TCGplayer market price
- English graded: sales records aggregated by alt.xyz (from eBay, Fanatics, Goldin, Heritage and others)
- Japanese raw: latest sold price on SNKRDUNK and 遊々亭; when there is no sale, 遊々亭's lowest shop listing, marked “Listing”
- Japanese graded: SNKRDUNK sold price
How cards are paired
- Same card number, same rarity, same card-face version (e.g. “Base” with “Base”, “Manga Alt Art” with “Manga Alt Art”, “OP09 Wanted Poster SP” with “OP09 Wanted Poster SP”)
- Graded cards are only compared at the same grading company and grade (PSA 10 in this edition)
Calculation rules
- Each version uses its latest reference price of the day
- Prices with no new sale in the last 60 days are left out of the table
- Thinly traded versions are marked “Few sales”; shop listings are marked “Listing”
- The EN/JP ratio is calculated after converting to the same currency, so it does not change with the display currency; the median uses only the rows shown in the table
Exchange rates
- European Central Bank (ECB) daily reference rates; the rate date is shown at the top of the page
- This edition (2026-11-03): 1 USD = 4.0770 MYR = 1.2812 SGD = 158.29 JPY
Update frequency
- Prices and exchange rates are updated once a day; the card list is reviewed monthly; popular cards are added after new sets are released
Limitations and disclaimer
- Prices are for reference only and are not buying or selling advice
- Prices exclude shipping, taxes and platform fees

FAQ
- Are Japanese One Piece cards always cheaper than English ones?
- In this edition's data, the English raw version costs more than the Japanese one for every pair, by a median of about 1.9×. This changes over time and the gap differs from card to card, so go by the table for the day.
- What prices are in the tables?
- Raw cards: the English side is the TCGplayer market price and the Japanese side is the latest sold price on SNKRDUNK / 遊々亭 (except rows marked “Listing”). Graded cards: both sides are the latest sold prices.
- Why compare raw and graded cards separately?
- A PSA 10 copy of a card can be worth several times the raw card, and the Japanese–English gap for graded cards is not necessarily the same as for raw cards, so we compare them separately.
- How often are prices updated?
- Once a day. The data date and exchange-rate date are shown at the top of the page.
- Why show prices in MYR and SGD?
- Many tcg95 users are in Malaysia and Singapore. We convert with the day's European Central Bank rates so prices can be compared directly, and you can switch to USD or JPY.
- Can I use this data on my website or in an article?
- Yes, free of charge — please credit “tcg95” and link to this page (CC BY 4.0).
- Is there a Pokémon comparison?
- Not yet; it will be added later. For now you can use the live price check to look up any Pokémon card.
